Welcome to the new site...

Hello & Welcome to the new ays305 website, sorry for the delay but what’s 8 months among friends?

I hope you like the new layout and you can find your way around, please feel free to leave feedback regarding anything on the site and I’m sure that either myself, Chris or Meniscus will have a look at it and maybe get back to you. I would like to take this opportunity in thanking Chris for all his hard work in setting up the site and I hope we can keep it as up to date as possible for any regular visitors.

In the current financial climate, I’m not sure what this season holds, but I’m looking forward to some great racing at as many tracks as possible. If you see me at your track please come and say hello and let me know what you think of the site.

Catch you later

It’s been 8 months in the making (well, a couple of weeks and 7 1/2 months sat around scratching my head!). Finally Colin and the monkey are back, and not at all ready for the new season. No suprise there then!

Below, you have a summary of the most recent posts (not much yet). Use the links bar above to get to all the main areas of the site, including the main bits of the original site in Archives, and the new Guestbook. Please leave your comments and feedback there, or feel free to comment on the individual posts when you see a comment box after the post.

Cheers,

Chris

22.01.09 - Don’t hold your breath

Summary:

No progress made on either car yet as I haven’t been in the garage since the engine was taken out of the Higgy after the last Barford. Nothing is likely to happen until the garage is tidied up and that is unlikely to get done until the tiles are fitted in the kitchen.

Work to be done:

Higgy - a new nerf rail, front & rear bumper, a couple of new panels to make, paint and sticker and the bellhousing to weld. Chassis to paint and re-fit engine. (Not that much, once I get started)

Randall – A couple of panels need making and then the car needs assembling and setting up. (Also not much – if I ever get started)

Then we have to sort the spares including repairing bent racks, shockers, welding wheels, sorting tyres, making new arms for the Higgy, etc, etc.

And just remembered a new axle to make for the Higgy after John bent it in the Mechanics race – Arse!

John At Barford
John ‘Higgy Bender’ Finlay

Not sure when the season is going to start for me, maybe the first Skeggy (probably the first Barford).

908 - Mike on the other hand has had his car repaired and repainted, the trailer widened so it takes the car without putting wets on and the places to mount axles, jerry cans, etc. Now he is racking the back of his van out to take all the tools and other spares, he is planning on going to Cowdy for the practice day in Feb.

705 – Phil, I haven’t spoke to Phil since last year – he could be dead, but if not I would guess he has stripped the car down to its underpants and painted it ready to be put back together. Not sure when he is planning to be out probably first Barford - if it doesn’t clash with his wedding in Cuba! Happy new year Phil, if your reading this!

Next time I might have made a bit of progress, but don’t hold your breath.

Speak Soon
