Love is in the air…

What else am I supposed to do with 8 months off!!!

…has it really been 8 months since we have been on air – I can’t believe it! Toss-Pot has probably fed you some guff somewhere that he has been busy at work or doing the house, racing or even playing football on a Sunday… What’s that all about? He’s just a useless waste of space – a Toss-Pot in fact, he does exactly what it says on the tin!

He did manage a bit of racing in 2008 - 29 meetings. He even won his first final (one of his career targets) – hang on a minute - can you really call it a final win when about 6 cars turned up to Barford and he was going from yellow? He only managed it by hooking up Mr Fortune on his nerf rail on the last bend and carrying him across the line! Still in 30 years time when someone writes that great literary masterpiece (or book for you thickets) – ‘Final Winners of the last 30 years’– his final will look like all the others (apart from it will say 305 first?). He also qualified for the Cowdy semi by telling everyone that the last qualifier at Skeg was fully booked when only 15 drivers turned up (that wasn’t his idea – Monkey Magic!).

Anyway this is boring, as usual he hasn’t done anything on the car, so we will probably miss the beginning of the season or we will be using the battered Higgy at Skeg on March 1st. Hopefully the next time I write something it will be a bit more interesting and I can slag-off Mike (908), Phil (705) or the other usual knackers that pretend to be mechanics, Chris, John ‘Higgy Bender’ Finlay, Greavsie or Stu.

Mike should be over his loved-up stage by the start of the season, although Phil is likely to be just starting his – commiserations for your wedding in Feb in Cuba - that sounds like a Meniscus Idea, I bet nobody turns up, it will save a fortune!

What’s everybody been sniffing lately, Mark Thoms (150) is getting married in March as well. He has planned it so well that his roof colour matches the wedding dress (that’s white for you numpties that thought she was buying a red dress – as if!). That’s some planning, he was blue 5 years ago. He better get himself sorted out soon, once you have tasted that white top fruit, it is very difficult to go back to yellow – just ask Brian Hogg!

No doubt more lambs will be going to slaughter in the near future… Jason take note - and you were going really well last year, when you could be bothered! Marriage will certainly slow you lot down, it took TP a decade to get over his affliction(wedding).*

Well that’s all I’ve got to say at the moment, I hope to be over-hearing many of you at the tracks saying some complete garbage so I can talk about you on here next time, I’m sure many of us will be affected by the Carrot-Crunch, but it could be worse, you could be getting married as well!

M

*Please Note; Colin would like to say that any views about Marriage in the above page are nothing to do with him, he is happily married and really looking forward to tiling the kitchen floor before the season starts.
