….Can You Hear Me
Now?
Is They Anybody
There…
…Sorry about not being in touch recently,
but the rec#pt;on on t[is li@e is rubbish!
I’ve been stood in various positions all
over the house trying to get a signal, since December (that’s my excuse and I’m
sticking to it!).
But I’m back now and since the season
started, last weekend, I’m ‘raring to go’, unfortunately the car isn’t.
We have made a bit of progress on the
Randall, the chassis should be ready for paint this week and the Higgy is
basically ready to go, apart from set-up & engine. The engine, is back at
Redline, but Richard hasn’t managed to get onto it yet – I think he could get it
stripped by the end of the week.
I must admit that I have not been putting in
100%. I have decided to go steady into the early part of the season, due mainly
to finances, tyres(I want to see which way to go) and I want to get some more of
the house finished(its only been like a building site for the past 2 years –
what’s she moaning about?). I normally go ‘hell for leather’ into the first
grading period, doing about 11 meetings and getting about 11 points and a yellow
roof into the bargain.
This year I am taking a leaf out of Jason
Ward’s book and trying to get my averages up(I’m sure this will only last until
I do my first meeting – then the addiction will kick in and the paint brush will
be kicked out).

Meniscus waiting for the new season to start - "Hurry up TP!"
Also this year in August we are having a
holiday abroad (Unfortunately the IOM doesn’t count) and Mike Reed is getting
married (Congratulations to Mike & Jan), so most of August is going to be
unavailable for racing – I haven’t even looked at what meetings I am going to
miss (I’m assuming Mike checked the fixture list before he agreed to get
married).
Team 305 aspirations for this
year:
- To qualify for the Semi @ Cowdy (Just
checked 2nd August – is OK). I think we have a chance of sneaking a place
on the Final grid if we can get in the semi – Cowdy is a place where we have
been going quite well over the past couple of years and a few of the southerners
could be in the wall early on.
- To win my first career
final. (I might have to get to yellow – before this
happens). Hopefully if it happens it will be from Blue
and that biggest aspiration of all – TO GET TO RED!
- Finally, not to make a complete arse of
myself at Mikes wedding(I’m leaving that up to Greavsie!)
Well I best go – I’ve got more stripping to
get on with – hopefully Chris might have managed to upload some old pics of my
pre-305 sheds (coming very soon... Chris), just for a laugh and when we get the next unloaded we will do a
final total for 2007, before we sort the list of drivers for
2008.
That reminds me I still haven’t sent Justin
Fisher all his prizes for winning the CGACKHFJHBNJJ’s (or whatever) award –
Sorry mate, we will bump into each other at some point this season, hopefully in
the near future!
Catch you later
