In Hibernation
As we are currently
in hibernation until next season, things are likely to be a bit crap, so I
thought that I would just keep you all updated with what the plan is for next
year and take a few shots of the new car as we take it apart, paint it and try
to put it back together for next year.
You may have noticed
how I refer to the team as 'We' and 'Us', I have to say it is a real team effort
'to crash' as often as we do. Winning, however, is completely down to
me!!
The old Higman has
managed another 51 meetings this year - that's a total of 119 meetings in 2 1/2
years which is quite remarkable, considering I probably only managed about half
that in the first 15 years of my racing career. This year we are teaming up with
Mike Reed 908 who is kindly sponsoring us along with the usual suspects from
Hosetech Martin and Heather. Stu Swales(620) will be offering motivational talks
throughout the season and a number of emergency parts as long as Andy(220)
doesn't decide to race too much!
For next
season we have once again remortgaged the house and gone and bought Mark
Simpson's Tarmac Randall from last year,
luckily this is still legal in almost every way as my left leg is 6" shorter
than my right one and I can't reach the left foot brake. Even if I could I
wouldn't know what to do with it, I normally just hit the fence at the end of
the straight and turn!
I have to be honest
I am not very excited about the car, it feels so comfortable I want to fall
asleep in it, the steering has no slack in it and the nerf rails and back bumper
look a pain to fix, if we break them (when we break them) but I'm sure as soon
as we get it painted and get the engine back from Richard at Redline(Stu is
dropping it off this week) I'm sure I will be raring to go. Plus we are planning
to keep the old car as a 'T-Car' (Spare
- for you Numpties!) to share with Mike (As he should have a spare engine
to go in it!). It might even become a Shale car, but we will wait and see what
the fixture list brings!
The plan is to
get the new car finished for one of the shows in February, when I say one of the
shows - the only show that is going to allow us to show the car is the Huddersfield one, so that will have to
do.
Somewhere close to
this text (Haven't seen how Chris is going to lay it out yet!) I have included
some pics of the two cars as they are today. I haven't done much yet, just got
the engine out, I think I will get going a bit next week and I will take some
more pics when I do.
Well that should do for the for now - keep a look out
on 'Never Enough Stox' for the next installment.
Catch You Later
